Gold Tooth Grin
The title track of the EP Gold Tooth Grin is pure escapism. It's brightly-lit synths and Southern Hip-Hop vibes make you think of a colourfully re-imagined Glasgow with subtropical temperatures and barbecues in the park where Big Boi is serving us ice cold beers
Taz then flips it with the aptly titled Robogrime, bringing back the sinister with a Wiley meets cinematic stalker movie vibe in one of the catchiest 8 bar rhythms you're ever likely to hear.
Strike First closes the EP. We first heard this one when Hudson Mohawke dropped it at our inagural Numbers party in London many years ago. The crowd went nuts and so did we. It's rapid-fire rhythms and gritty soundscapes builds on that same sense of urgency you’ve heard on early Slew Dem and Firecamp records. Pure aggression.
