George Smallwood

Essential and unreleased material from Maryland’s Mr. Mellow, this basement demo was multi- tracked and recorded by Smallwood himself. It also features him on drums, bass, synth, rhythm ace, and vocals. This one man band laid down almost every one of his songs on reel-to-reel prior to paying for professional studio time. The Lady Disco Demo is Smallwood’s favorite take because the back-up singer was Lady Disco herself. She went missing after George booked his session at Sound Studio Maryland, and his sister had to sing her part. On the flip you’ll hear an alternate mix of Roller Coaster, recently remixed by Smallwood from the original studio masters.
