Pelon
No Stunts + 30 locked grooves
Originally released on Chain Reaction in 1996, Pelon's ''No Stunts'' harks back to a time when the nowadays so gladly used and over-used term ''dub techno'' was still waiting to be found. But that's secondary. The main thing is: ''No Stunts'' is here again. With addictive, heavily-transformed and echoed synth sounds connected to a strong and pulsating bass line, it is exactly that type of no-frills techno you just cannot stop listening to. Now restored and remastered, the A-side contains an edit taken from the 1998 Chain Reaction CD ''Various: Compiled...'' - previously unavailable on vinyl. As if this wouldn't be enough advocacy for vinyl as the agent of choice, the flipside holds 30 locked grooves extracted from the original recording session of ''No Stunts'' that you won't necessarily find in the track itself and most definitely not as downloads.
