Gerald Donald frequently draws inspiration and references from wave theory and physics in his music. The former Drexciya member's latest alias, XOR Gate, refers to a type of operational logic in electronics or linguistics, and a conic section is the shape created when a flat surface slices through a 3D structure. Conic Sections is an album composed of eight ''themes'' mixed as one track, whose beatless synthscapes echo those heard on Dopplereffekt's Cellular Automata.
