Raval Rave Breakers Pt. 1

Various Artists - Raval Rave Breakers Pt. 1

There's a good bunch of intense, dark and extreme, grinding electro-techno gems on the ''Raval Rave Breakers'' first compilation. While Boris Divider's 'Collapsed Cluster' recalls of the more clinical approach of labels like Raster-Noton, Eel manages to deliver a fresh mix of styles on 'Sraight Edge', where Old Skool Breakbeat and EBM draw an unforgettable match made in heaven. Last track on the A side comes from Classicworks boss Neuhen, but is Patricia (Opal Tapes, Spectral Sound) who remixes it: in ''Supress'' we can find all the magic tricks of the NYC based producer: eery atmospheres, gently distorted drums and a warm feeling of cozyness. On the flip, RNXRX delivers ''Aktion Intertia'', one of the most psychedelic jams he's ever did: an industrial acid track as catchy as it can be. Oakland's ''Heroine From The North'' sounds a bit like when New Beat became faster and more agressive, being mixed with styles like EBM and trance.
