Cool Band / Manzanem

While a lot of PPU's time is spent unearthing, reviving and liberating classic boogie, disco, funk and soul from the 80s and 90s, it's also home to troves of authentic grooves tailored in contemporary times... And long-standing label fam Benedek is one of the most consistent forces behind it all. The excellently titled C.O.O.L Band and Manzanem are two of his latest guises; the former is a real Sunday afternoon lazy vibe, like an electro boogie record on at half speed with thundering weight on the powerful kicks while the latter takes us deeper into the late 80s with a Mr Fingers' style trip into primordial house music. Pure synth odysseys, the pair of them.
