''I licensed Gold material from Avelino Pitts an over 10 years ago when I was working at Jazzman, at the time we got a tape with an alternative version of 'What About The Child' so it made sense to reissue that version rather than the original and better mix as it was unheard. We never did get around to putting out the original 45 version, more urgent and pushy than the softer mix on the unreleased tape, so here it is. This 45 was a true deepfunk rarity in the 2000s and just never turns up at all. On the flip we got some amazing Spiritual Soul from the unreleased tapes that sounds very Rotary Connection, really special track.''
