It is a not so widely known fact that mmany cities in eastern Canada have long been home to individuals with roots in the West Indies, with the famed keyboard player of Studio One, Jackie Mittoo even setting up shop in Toronto in the 70’s. Chalice was built with a heavy emphasis on this heritage, both through its soundsystem themed chord progression, and its inclusion of vocal talent plucked from amongst that culture, Awaken Lion. This is something incredibly driving, yet still Dubstep to it’s core.
