Sandwell District come back to the fray after the superb Avon /Cally remixes 12”, this time inviting John Mendez (Cytrax / Delay / Force Inc.) to come up with his special brand of minimalism. The A-side is deep as you like, and first track ‘Silence' is a gloriously grainy drift of beatless tones and textures. ‘Death to the traveller' introduces some crisp beats, but keeps things subtle, almost subliminal. ‘Murder murder' is the grown up sound of minimal techno. Unfettered by the ‘kick and stick' regime that is essentially disco for the Ableton generation, this is music that allows the imagination to do its work…
