Asma / Silent Servant

M_Rec Ltd's vinyl-only Grey Series comes a brand new collaboration between Repitch's Ascion and our own Max_M, as Asma. Inspired by Dutch experimental filmmaker Frans Zwartjes' 1968 short film of the same name, 'Birds' morphs longing and stifling sexual tension into an opus of bold and emotively charged techno. Poignant, lyrical, sensual and at the same time weighty and profoundly compelling, 'Birds' is another fine example of the kind of transcendent dance floor material that has come to define the Grey Series offshoot. Sandwell District affiliate Silent Servant follows with a solid neo-vintage remix on the b-side, complete with drum and chord stabs that lift 'Birds' out of the basement to wander in haunted house and techno limbo.
