Bio Rhythm 1 (remastered)
Network's release of the bio rhythm and bio rhythm 2 compilations albums in 1990 changed everything. They spelt out a new electronic dance pulse – this was grown up acid house. The sub titles ''808 909 1991'' and ''dance music with bleeps'' summed up the glorious intertwining of sublimely complex Detroit techno from Derrick May, Juan Atkins and their disciples with the mutated version of that electronic purity coming from a nu skool of UK bass mad producers. ''Rhythmatic martial art'' was how the sleeve notes described the result – music for living bassheads. The albums were released to instant acclaim and perfectly defined a movement.Network subsequently stubbornly spurned pleas from their distributor and techno anoraks alike, and refused to compromise the integrity of the debut albums by turning the sound of a moment into a series.
