Recovery IDea (Part One)
Re-released due to popular demand! As part of their ongoing mission to bypass the obvious, Semantica follow up their debut (techno) release with a rather more esoteric affair by Finnish IDM dub-meister Sasu Ripatti aka Vladislav Delay. Known for his well-respected releases on Chain Reaction, Mille Plateaux and Huume amongst others, here Sasu serves up a typically complex soup of rhythmic elements set against lush melodic soundbeds, all treated with care and attention to squeeze the most out of each part. On the flipside label owner Svreca ‘edits’ the track into a more stripped-back, and more obviously dub-influenced affair. All in all a nice counterpoint to their rather more banging first release. No doubt it will confuse the tunnel-visioned techno hordes, but maybe that’s no bad thing. White vinyl edition.
