Is It Balearic has really carved out a niche for sublime, chilled but chunky grooves. A side is Dropout –seeing coyote stepping onto the dancefloor whilst still keeping all the elements of their sound. Electric guitars, arpeggios, and a catchy little melody. Tranced out, chugging and laidback in equal measures. The remix of Dropout by deadstock 33’s -the Balearic godfather himself- Justin Robertson takes the track into chunky electro dub bounce territory. The flip side’s ‘How you doin’ is a laid back slice of dubby Balearica with a remix from the International Peoples Gang who offer up a supreb remake, reminiscent of Weatherall’s early 90’s output Coyote and is it Balearic doing exactly what it says on the label! Is It Balearic? ... Oh Yeah...
