Numbercult
Numbercult 1
This debut release on new imprint numbercult is sure to make waves, pulling no punches with this weighty production. The serie hits off with a anonymous artist (which most likely is not making his debut here, judging on the production skills). The A side kicks off 'Landlines', 11 minutes of driving deepness, an overdriven stabbing sub-bass and solid percussion give the track monstrous bottom-end with the hypnotic lead line almost vanishing in the vastness. This could be descriped as a kind of mid 90's techno... the rawer side of Basic Channel or Fcom. An absolute sexy monster track that keeps pushing forward and remains its funky almost dubby drive. Strong! from The B side 'Clonic' is a driving 'Mills-esque' X-103-ish assault, layering discordant acid lines to produce an intense and relentless track, broken only once with soaring beautiful strings. A-side is essential! the b-side only for the headstrong. A great start for this new label from Glasgow releasing limited releases of high calibre Deep Techno from a dynamic collective of producers. A label grounded on the basics of techno with an open mind to the future. And what a great start. Check!!!
