James Johnston drops his first vinyl twelve on 4lux. Feelin Good In The Dark wheels you in deep territories, with pumping drums and Rhodes-laden sounds blending well with soulful vocal samples. As the opener slips into Sold Out Of Your Heart, the transition is majestic, as tight blunted bass beats, floating strings and shuffle drums create the magnificent deep and spiritual vibe. This 2nd track of the EP is an excursion in and out of 4/4 grooves and offshoots, all with different little vocal suites and quirks and all perfectly set for a club environment. On the flip Missed The Party is a slow building deep house tune with clever programmed beats and mesmerizing vocals. Last track Slow Dance And Romance rounds it all off with an addictive kick and that superb and funky rolling bassline.
