Solab’s music is inspired by the Detroit Legacy, both in a musical and theoretical approach. The duo’s tracks have an otherworldliness to them, providing a glimpse at other places, imagined or real. Indeed, on Celestial Tales, the feeling pervades that while the intricately woven melodies and complex beats are beautiful in their own right, they are really just providing pointers to a hitherto unexplored place. The beautifully evocative sounds of this EP work purely on a musical level.
