Exit
Detroit Leaning / I wanna Dance
Superior Elevation is Tom Noble's own label. As first release he comes with the Motor City Funk of Exit, a one man band consisting of the psychedelic artist George Gullet. Originally from Detroit, George relocated to California in 1980 and soon afterwards began to reminisce about the ''D''. He decided to take home-studio action and recorded ''Detroit Leaning'', a synth string's drive through a dark neighborhood of Motor City.
Originally released in small quantity on George's own IPS Records, this 45 is nearly impossible to find these days, even on ebay. Discovered by Lotus Land's Tom Noble several years ago while digging through Swap Meets in Souther California, the beat up record has been dragged through some sweaty dancefloors and today remains a killer funky late disco winner in the clubs. This official reissue from Master Tape, with a slightly more psychish mix than the original. n the flip the post punkish disco rap B Side I Wanna Dance, given a subtle 7'' edit by Tom Noble.
