Willie Burns
S/T
Sometimes things just fall into your lap as is the case with this L.I.E.S. release by savant basement producer, Willie Burns. Growing up on the infamous Baudin St. in New Orleans, the now 38 year old Burns was exposed to the world of music production in the early-nineties via his older brother, an aspiring Hip Hop producer. Consequently, as his brother's career was teetering towards its end, Burns spent a summer with cousins in New York City frequenting clubs like The Tunnel, The World, Sound Factory, and the legendary Save the Robots, being exposed to House music for the first time. Upon returning home he started tinkering with his brothers machines and began producing crude, rudimentary House tracks, trying to emulate the sounds he heard that summer in New York. The tracks on this recording are the unedited experimentations of Burns and are a testament to music when it comes straight from the heart without pretense or forethought unlike most dance music today.
