The Son Of P.M.
Hey Klong Yao!
The Son Of P.M. - Hey Klong Yao! (LP)
Wonderfully raucous and funked-up side of modernized Thai music from the '60s, also known as \''Shadow music\''. Essentially these are the attempts of composer Phayong Mukda to marry Thai classical percussion to Latin and Big Band melodies of the time, also borrowing from western rock sounds like Buddy Holly's thrilling electric riffs. The effect is undeniably funky and utterly unlike anything we've come across before. A total must have for drum fiends, exotica freaks and lovers of captivating, otherworldly music.
