The pairing of Jay 5ive & Kromestar have birthed a number of exquisite tracks; and as they grow and perfect their studio presence together this has become apparent in their new work, their third release BNL003 sets the scene for an exciting time for bass music and opens the doors for more enjoyable experimentation. Deepest Fears: An orchestral choir sings out while weird and wonderful synths flutter and float around the mix. An equally unnatural and charismatic bass line moves in and out of an excitable hat arrangement. As the ghostly haunts of the Choir return they’re joined by new melodic content and the introduction of additional percussion opens a whole new dimension and exciting chapter to what seems like a book which may have multiple outcomes. Backwoods: Enter the 404, kick and claps, as Backwoods tips it’s hat at the early 90’s west coast hip hop era, an assortment of pads and melodies create an eerie atmosphere as bouncy bass establishment the theme, unorthodox strings and sweeps unite together to compliment subtle synth harmonies.
