Last Japan & Visionist

For Signal Life #03, we teamed up two young vigorous South Londoners: Mr. Louis Carnell, known by his moniker Visionist, and Mr. Marco Giuliani, who works under the alias Last Japan. 'Control This' by Visionist combines his background in South London grime with his signature drum machine template and lo-fi vocal excerpts into a coherent mesh. Our favourite Visionist track to date! When we first heard Storm Trooper by Last Japan, it was the tension we got caught up in. The song is focused with a clear direction, uncommon in most young talent, armed with a driving snare-fill rhythm reminiscent of south rap and all that exiting stuff in the 160 bpm. I believe ‘murky’ is the correct term. We predict interesting things for Mr. Giuliani.
