HE3 Project
Chapter 3
Beautiful packed and mastered release by Herman Eberizsch on Family Groove records!
Mr. Eberitzsch recorded hours of bluesy soul fueled by funky jazz throughout the 70s that never saw commercial release. He arranged, wrote, sang and funkified the keys on dozens of songs with Coke Escovedo, Linda Tillery, Lee Oskar, Little Esther Phillips and Greg Errico, among many others.
This chapter focuses on music recorded during 1971-1973, with guest musicians Hadley Caliman on Saxophone & Flute, Julia & Maxine Waters (The Waters Sisters) on vocals. These sessions are pure Psychedelia with a Soulful Jazz sound.
'Dark Angels' expresses beauty and fire through a roaring flute solo by Hadley Caliman, and lush vocals by the Waters Sisters. 'The Massage' and 'Strength' have a hard hitting Jazz Funk sound, 'This Is The Struggle' and 'Civilization' conveying a universal message for hope and unity.
The music is experimental and loose yet focused, reminiscent of the Strata East & Black Jazz recordings of the era. This album truly reflects the brilliance of songwriter Herman Eberizsch. Songs created during a musical renaissance in San Francisco,
left in a basement for 40 years are now fully realized and sound as poignant as they did when they were recorded.
13 Songs mastered from the original 2'' Multi-track Tapes available on double vinyl set in a gatefold full color cover.
