The XX

Special rmx project with all four remixes are pretty different. Marc Piñol takes “Fiction” to the good ol’ days of Chicago house, laying the original vocals on top of analog drum-machines and a rubbery bassline to that suggest an imaginary collaboration between Adonis and Oliver Sim. The elusive Mistakes Are Ok maintains the tropical vibe of “Reunion” but provides a warped atmosphere combining breezy chimes with static haze and a propulsive bass that boosts the song towards the second part of the remix. Hivern's latest signee Round transforms the fragility of “Missing” into a soothing house cut through uplifting organ chords and vigorous rhythms fulfilling dancefloor demands without loosing it's melancholic character. Finally, New Jackson proves once again his knack with nocturnal ambiences flipping “Swept Away” into a sensuous deep-house gem guided by an absorbing piano and a slow but steady groove.

The release comes in an embossed sleeve with artwork designed by Arnau Pi. HVNXX is a a co-release with Young Turks.
