Garifuna Variations

Low Jack - Garifuna Variations

Originally composed for a live performance commissioned by the Quai Branly Museum in Paris, French producer Low Jack was given access to the museums vast music library to use as a basis for this project.
In his research he focused on the Garifuna people of Honduras sampling parts of the music and composing a live set with some of these elements. With no intention to release this performance, the live recording was subsequently brought to the attention of L.I.E.S. Records and resulted in Low Jack returning to the the studio to re-create his set, thus the culmination of this lp. Rhythmic, tense, and hypnotic electronic music that lives in a grey area many are unwilling to step into.
