Damon Bell - Banyana EP (12inch)

Californian selector Damon Bell ventures away from Aybee's Deepblak label since his debut Kush Music releases that began in 2009. The American DJ known for eclectic DJ sets of afro-beat, Brazilian bossa and batucada (an African influenced Brazilian percussive style of Samba), delivers a three track EP of soulful house music inspired by the aforementioned genres. ''Anuhmarc'' intertwines leisurely paced poly-rhythms with housey Rhodes and engineered sound designs, as does a loungey ''Oba-Ah''. But if there's track on Banyana worth talking about it's the water drenched pianos and walking bassline controlled ''Oba-Ah''.
