Die 10 Symphonien
12 cd edition of the 10 symphonic works of Gustav Mahler. Heavy symphonic works that are emotive and visionair. Including a personal favorite, the epic 9th symphony written close to his dead and dramatically ending in adagio with Mahler's notes ''Dying Away'' (Ersterbend). According the great conductor Leonard Bernstein Mahler did mean Dying Away in 3 ways, his own impending death, the death of tonality, and the death of ''Faustian'' culture in all the arts (Its worth checking out Bernstein talking about Mahler on Youtube). Mahler never heard the piece performed.
