Ennio Morricone - Maddalena

MADDALENA was a jugoslavian – italian co-production directed in 1971 by Jerzy Kawalerowicz. The score by Ennio Morricone is one of the main protagonists of this motion picture featuring the hit song “CHI MAI” sung in Italian by Lisa Gastoni. Ennio Morricone has written a powerful lounge/religious-style score with psychedelic and erotic elements given by the amazing performance of Edda Dell’Orso and choir I Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni that transport the listeners in an universe of passion and mystery, love and death, between sacred and profane. The original 1971 LP is one of the most rare albums of Meastro Morricone, now with new graphic design, newly mastered sound from the original analog stereo tapes and also including the theme song as bonus track that in those far days was issued only a 45 rpm single.
