Oneir - Oneir

This self-titled mystery tape from Oneir contains some of the loneliest synth/drone stuff we've heard in ages. Slowly creeping, meandering basslines, distant noises and high chirring sounds create a ghostly atmosphere that instantly draws you in. The name itself, Oneir, and the titles of the two compositions, ''The Moon on a Balcony of Clouds, Soft Still'' and ''The Night of a Face'' suggest a fascination (or obsession?) with the night and the state of dreaming. In fact this tape is dedicated to poet and theologian, Theo van Baaren, one of the very few surrealists from The Netherlands.
