Alma Negra

The Alma Negra collective is based in Basel but has roots in several different cultures, boasting Cape Verdean, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish roots. Combining disparate backgrounds in the rare groove scene and the Swiss/German techno free party scene of the 90s as well as an early diet of Cape Verdean Funana in the family home, the collective (brothers Dersu & Diego Figuiera, Mario Robles and Dario Rohrbach) have already created quite a stir with previous releases on Sofrito as well as work for Basic Fingers and the Highlife sub-label of Huntley & Palmers.
