Chicago Trax Vol. 1

Various - Chicago Trax Vol. 1

''Trax launches a new re issue series ''Chicago Trax'', which delves deeper into the archives to unearth more 'lost tracks' from the legendary Chicago house label.

We kick off with Le' Noiz ''I'm Scared'' (TX103 - 1985). Jesse Saunders' second release on Trax, this time assisted by old playground cohort Duane Buford and sounding more like a house record. With its heavy-ass snares and tom-tom work, it's not unlike his later effort on Jes Say : ''Real Love''.

Next up we have Jack Master Funk / Jack Master Dick ''Jack The Bass'' (TX104 / 1986). It took till the forth release on the label to find the sound that we'd come to associate with Trax and it was provided by that man of many guises Farley 'Jackmaster' Funk, under his porno guise Mr. Dick. Suck my what?!

On the flip we have the only release by Ron Hardy under his own name, it's fitting he should appear on Trax, given the amount of support he gave to numberous releases. Featuring the voice of Adrienne Jett (wrongly written as Adrian on the label credits), who also contributed backgrounds to Jamie Principle's 'Your Love'., this was co-written by Vince Lawrence. Apparently Larry Sherman produced it, whatever that might mean.''
