Musical Breed
Save The Little Children
The album was originally released in Nigeria by Tabansi Records and recorded at Afrodisia/Decca studio in Lagos, though the LP never saw a commercial issue, and was probably pressed in low quantities for promotional purposes, making an original copy near impossible to find.
Musically it comes with some dope, slow and one-a-way digital roots riddims filled with mad synths , deep conscious lyrics and a deep bassline, it's quite unique as the two main tracks come with a raw dub, unusual on any other African Reggae albums, the last track “If I'm To Rule The World” is an interesting blend of Reggae and Boogie.
DTW have been working together with the lead singer of the band, Sharon Escco Wilson, to finally make the album available worldwide.
The cover has been fully restored and the audio remastered, and comes with a lyric insert, including original pictures from back in the days and a few new ones, a newspaper article from 1990 and an extensive interview by Sharon Escco Wilson.
The cover artwork is by Eligez graphic, and will be pressed on quality thick card by Legno. The audio is taken from 2 copies of the LP, and restored by Davide Bassi at Press Rewind Studio (Italy). Lacquer was cut at SST, and the LP will be pressed in a limited run of 500 copies, by Optimal.
