Magic Daddy / Truffle Club
The (Insert Title Here) ep
Magic Daddy Kicks off with ''Engines of the Deep'' it's a funk-filled bleepy techno ride that's anything but minimal. Keeping the funk but adding a slinky two step influence is the breaky ''Peppermint Junction'' which could almost be described as Plaid on steroids. Finishing it all off is the funky hip-hop track ''Wanderdog'', a track which shows off the Daddy's love of hip-hop producers like DJ Premier and the Neptunes. The Truffle Club kicks off with the sweet R&B influenced electronica of ''Sweatclutch'', dedicated to all the ladies on the dancefloor. Providing a brief interlude is the nightmare lounge jazz of ''Shrig'', a reworking of a loop from a fellow Glaswegian. Rounding things off is the cheekily titled ''Frig Magnet'', a song which shows off Dave's approach to techno, comprised of millions of samples, dubby effects, live sounding drums, this jacks like a muthafucka.
