Saudade aka Fabian Appolaire returns to Carpet & Snares’s Patterns series with four refined explorations of jazz-inflected minimal house. As on his debut EP on the imprint, what interests Appolaire is the fundamental units of jazz – syncopation, swing, improvisation – and how these can combine within a stripped-back dance music template.
