Claudio Mate

Years ago, it began as a long-awaited tribute to Manuel Gottsching, the artist who influenced Mate’s music. What started as a game, sometimes dreams do come true.

After initial contact via Myspace in February 2007, Manuel, greatly impressed by Claudio’s idea. After numerous emails, they met in Berlin, where Gottsching himself provided Claudio with the necessary energy to pursue and complete the project. When finally the official release came out, records plants, record shops & distributions suffered their major global crises, as the vinyl for many people was declared almost dead. Sadly, around that time, Claudio’s Tribute sold around 100 copies, primarily in Japan, before the financial collapse of the vinyl distribution handling his label. Occasionally, For the launch of Claudio’s new label, Tribute is a message of love & respect to Manuel and all those who believed in us throughout our lives. Moreover, almost 18 years later, this release still sounds new and fresh for any music enthusiast, proving that Mate’s timeless music vision is absolutely right once again. Tribute is a continuous cosmic journey, approximately 12:45 minutes long, less stop, one side vinyl, divided into different emotional steps: Intro, Journey Beginning, Middle Emotive, Cosmic Path, and Guitar Soul Ending played by Luca Petrosino, an Italian guitar talent, which he made his debut also to Sanremo Festival over the years.
