Topium feat Djenmbi & Klod Kiavue

The third volume of the Excursions in Gwoka series brings forth fresh sun-bathed rhythms, perfect for summer. It is a collaboration between Guadeloupean legends Djenmbi, who is the synth composer of Akiyo's 'Deboule', and master ka player Klod Kiavue, alongside Montreal electronic twosome Topium. Their cover of the traditional folkloric song 'Bo Bay Lamen' (which translates as ''to give a hand'') takes it into lush soundscape territory with golden hues and gentle underlapping drums. It is complemented by Afro-cosmic and dancefloor-ready remixes from Kay Suzuki and Aroop Roy, who makes his Beauty & The Beat debut. Also featured is 'Ti Bedon,' a modern electronic gwoka fusion track from the quartet's 2022 CD-only album.
