A Conversation Through Music
Sydney-based party crew WIP Music have done a good job in establishing and developing their offshoot label, partly through gemtly persuading guest DJs to contribute to it. A Conversation Through Music, offers further proof of the label's continuing ascendency. Check first John Beltran's gorgeous and emotive 'Guajataca', a lightly Latin-tinged chunk of classy deep house dreaminess laden with warming electric piano licks and layered percussion, before admiring the even deeper, sturdier bossa-house bliss that is Mikekon's 'Shapes'. Over on side B, previous label contributor Trinidadian Deep takes us into space via the South American percussion, mazy organ solos and spaced-out synth sounds of 'Dubbin & Deep', while 'Needs' by Middle James is a soaring, sun-splashed chunk of jazzy deep house joy with added electric guitar solos and fluttering, tech-tinged synths.
