Global Communication

Originally released back in 1994, this album has continued to make the best of ambient release lists consistently. Coming off of the harder edged rave sounds of the earlier 90s - see one half of GC, Mark Pritchard's banging and chart-slaying version of 'Roobarb & Custard' as a prime exampe - there was a movement that made sounds for the chill out rooms and home listening sessions after long nights out. Global Communication's 76:14 remains one of ambient music's most transcendent achievements, a great example of a meditative journey through space and emotion. It's timeless ambient music in its design and deeply human in its reach. Decades later and reissued here in 2025, it still sounds like infinity unfolding in slow motion.
