Spinbeat’s ‘Play’ is the first release from the new Pixel label out of Michigan. Spinbeat is Sam Hall (Ghost Orchard), who has spent the past few years after 2022’s ‘Rainbow Music’ (Winspear) working with Chicago’s Redux Radio (reduxrad.io) on their show with his partner, Kristine Lirio, “plusplus”. Spinbeat is a major shift in output from Hall and ‘Play’ marks the first of two releases set for this year, leaning into sampling, glitch, and techno influence. “Play” was mastered by The Bastard (Wah Wah Wino, Maria Sommerville, Dean Blunt).
