Kieran Jandu
Dynamics EP (Jay Tripwire remix)
Nightshade Records step out with their first transmission, pairing Kieran Jandu & Hugo Maher on a debut 12”. A chance meeting in Morocco lead to the pair making music together on a regular basis. A few years later, between various studios a few tracks are seeing the light of day. With an added bonus of a remix from the underground legend Jay Tripwire.
Originally sketched in 2024 and reworked in 2026, Dynamics blends warm, dubby pressure with ample space, crisp percussion and a rich low-end. It’s techno in the broadest sense, with one foot in deep, stripped back UK house and the another in late-room, soundsystem-minded tackle.
Double A, follows with a swirling abstracted structure, favouring a loose and groovy feel. Minimal drift: glitch-flecked, bass-heavy and nicely off-centre, the sort of groove that makes sense in the warm-up or those early morning sunrise moments when things start to get a little strange or very strange, dependent on how far you can push it.
Jay Tripwire then stretches the title cut into a 10-minute hardware jam on the entire B side, twisting the vocal fragment from the original into a long-form minimal trip, somewhere in that loose, hypnotic Villalobos zone without ever losing the floor.
