Poltergeist/ Dont Block The Box
Determined to write a new chapter in nyc's long history of dance music, Marcos Cabral and Jacques Renault (think DFA, Rekids, I'm A Cliche, Wurst Edits, Chinatown, Editions Disco, RVNG, Trapez, and more) have decided to launch their own record label On The Prowl. With a heavy nod to American classic house, techno, and disco, OTP listeners should expect a variety of sound that will propel them to dance for years to come. The first OTP instalment entitled ''The Poltergeist'' throws a heavy blow of dark acid bass, Todd Terry-esque stabs, and proper dubbed out distortion for a feeling that will leave listeners floored...leaving even the most stubborn of listeners open for more. House music, raw and unrestricted. The B-side, not to be overshadowed, brings us ''Don't Block The Box''. An A-side in its own right, delivering us good old fashioned house music with hypnotically filtered samples and pulsing ''arms in the air'' swells of resonance.
