Joe Church
Don't you wanna be mine
One of the most under-rated New York vocal house tracks by Joseph Simmons also known as Joe Church the Gospel singer. A forgotten gem that is so sexy, intense and full of desire as one hardly hears in house music anymore. The perfectly arranged track is produced by Yvonne Turner and Tommy Musto at Underworld Records in 1987. This easily could have been a Frankie Knuckles or Marshall Jefferson production with the intense basslines and the funky drum programming and soulful vocals. Somehow this release is very much overlooked on the mainland of Europe despite the fact it was being played by the big house dj's in the late 80's. Essential deep house classic!
