CVBox
Trawler Crossing
One year after the first excursion into his haunting world of sonic spaces on the Analog Amputations EP, machine wizard CVBox strikes back on Uncanny Valley with the follow up "Trawler Crossing". And from start to finish this EP is a journey between Techno and Ambient full of unheard noises and grasping rhythms.
In the title track the beat rides on spooky pads that flow down like lava from a volcano. The more the whipping drums come into play, the more captivating the atmosphere evolves. "Echo Place (Canyon Version)" is CVBox in pure beauty. Starting with quirky synth-sounds that seem to talk to the listener, a dubby bass driven groove takes over to unfold an adventurous Techno track in all its glory.
On the flipside "Leo on LFO (Accordion Partition)" takes its time to build up into an epic Electro track that is distinguished by the acidic synth-bass and outshining strings. The collaboration with his musical soul mate Micha Freier marks the end point of the EP. "Remind 20 : 3" is a dreamy slow burner that seductively puts its arms around you after all.
