Caramel Chameleon

Italian producer Caramel Chameleon has delivered a brilliant EP with five tracks of moody and lushly rolling IDM beats and acid lines. First track Barocco CC is a smooth IDM cut where frivolous and melancholic melodies fight for dominance. The song feels like a piece of drama - moody but also happy at times; the perfect soundtrack for this dystopian age. Dronacid (Phaserinterlude Mix) then, is an unsettling and fragile but fast paced ambient-acid composition that ends with an incredibly beautiful outro. Peanut Butter - the first one on the flip - is a mid tempo electro track with a carefree vocoder chorus and quirky out of tune chords. Next up is Non Ridere, a wonderful braindance cut with bubbling acid melodies and melancholic keys all over. Closing the EP is Solitario, a subtle underdog that sneakily ends up being very layered, emotional and deep.
