Given that he learned from one of the true masters of deep house, Ron Trent, it's perhaps not that surprising that Trinidadian Deep's releases are always rich in dreamy pads, positive chord progressions, intricate musical touches and effortlessly soulful deep house grooves. His latest outing on Neroli is a terrific example of this, with title track ''Some Sweet Ting'' offering a tactile, life-affirming journey through starry synths, twinkling piano solos, jazzy bass, layered percussion and huggable chords. Flip to the B-side for the poignant, enveloping intergalactic deep house brilliance of ''Atmospheric Funk'' and ''Sounds of the Rebel'', whose darting synth-bass and glistening lead lines are as colourful as the accompanying pads are deep.
