A veteran of modular synthesis and member of the UK/Berlin experimental trio Twinkle., Richard Scott returns with a four-track suite that captures both the precision and unpredictability of his craft, ricocheting between structure and chaos. 'Swerve' opens with clipped, angular percussion and elastic bass jolts; 'Beat the Lights' expands into tangled polyrhythms, each pulse chasing the next in a kind of joyful disarray. On the flip, 'Scatter' sprawls into an ecstatic blur of voltage and motion with syncopation constantly on the edge of collapse, while 'Crossfigure' closes in eerie calm, a lattice of flickering tones that glows and fades like circuitry dreaming. Both cerebral and physical, this is rhythm as experiment, electricity as intuition.
