Komisch is a new underground label covering the broad areas of techno and house music, run by the elusive DJ Komisch. Primarily aimed at the dance floor, the label, whose name in German means ‘strange’, ‘unusual’, ‘odd’ or even ‘unconventional’, will nonetheless aim to showcase and support new approaches to electronic music.Komisch will focus on teasing new sounds and ideas from techno and house that’s rooted in Chicago, Detroit and Berlin. The label will put an emphasis on high-quality design, mastering/production and vinyl, something that is often lost in the so-called digital revolution. The first three releases are by Peter Van Hoesen, Samuli Kemppi and The Parallel, followed by more talented producers.
